best porch in Kauai?by Adam D. on 04/11/12We stayed here for ten days in March. The house was well appointed, clean and spacious enough for our three adults and two kids. The kitchen was modern and the garage was stuffed with beach goodies. Nicely decorated too.
We weren't that familiar with Poipu and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the house. It's a two minute walk from Brennecke's Beach and the nearby restaurant.
A few aspects of the house could use updating. The plumbing needs work, for example. It ends up making the house feel like a comfortable "beach house" as opposed to a luxurious retreat. It's minor though, and didn't detract from our stay.
Our favorite part of the house was definitely the immense porch, which looks out over the water. It gets shade all day and it's big enough to include a couple of couches and a four person dining table. We basically spent half the trip lounging around on those couches, enjoying the breeze and watching the brave folks body surfing at Brennecke's.
