Centerville, located on Nantucket Sound, is one of seven villages in Barnstable County and home to about 10,000 residents. During the mid-1800s, Centerville was bustling with the activity of shipbuilders and carriage makers and was home to a number of wealthy ship captains.

Centerville Highlights and Features:

  • Catch a glimpse of yesteryear at the Centerville Historical Museum. Its remarkable collection includes quilts, children's toys and dolls, and maritime and military artifacts.
  • Book a flight on a historic biplane at the nearby Cape Cod Airfield and tour the Cape by air.
  • Take time for a cold treat at Four Seas Ice Cream, considered to be the oldest ice cream shop (1934) in New England.
  • Food enthusiasts will also enjoy a trip to the now famous Centerville Pie Company, known for its chicken pot pies and fruit pies.
  • Relax at Craigville Beach with its views of the Kennedy compound in nearby Hyannis.
  • Learn to sail at the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club on the largest inland body of water on Cape Cod.
  • Rent a kayak for a day or a week and paddle through the many tranquil ponds and streams in the area.
