Eastham, Cape Cod, the site of the first encounter between the Pilgrims and Indians at a beach in 1621 in Eastham, offers families a wide variety of attractions to visit.

Eastham Highlights and Features:

  • The best time to visit Eastham is during summer weekdays. The town is packed during weekends at this time.
  • Eastham is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore and is ideal for families interested in fishing, watersports and exploring the coastline.
  • There are several freshwater ponds in the center of the town suitable for powerboats.
  • Visit Nauset Lighthouse. Built in 1877, it's one of the oldest lighthouses in Cape Cod.
  • Eastham Windmill, built in 1680, is the oldest windmill in Cape Cod. It offers tours and fun for all the family.
  • The 1869 Schoolhouse Museum is a former school used by Eastham residents for generations and gives interesting talks by older students about this historic and quaint school.
